What makes this an AI to-do list?

An AI to-do list helps turn work into manageable next steps. In Ghost, Focus is a persistent AI Kanban board for standalone todos and Epics. Ask the assistant to add, group, update, prioritize, move, or complete an item, while preserving the meeting, note, or link that explains it.

Focus makes task progress visible in three columns: To Do, In Progress, and Done. The board keeps an overall count at the top, then gives every Epic its own lane. Work that does not belong to an Epic stays available in Other instead of disappearing.

Drag a card to change its status, move it into or out of an Epic, and place it where it belongs in the lane. Or describe the same update to Ghost conversationally. The card keeps its priority, timing, prompt, and linked context either way.

This is Kanban task management for the work Ghost helps you carry forward—not a separate team-planning system. There are no implied sprints, user stories, WIP limits, or automatic deadlines.

An Epic gives related work a shared outcome without turning it into one oversized task. Create an Epic such as “Atlas launch,” add new todos inside it, or group existing Focus items there.

Each child todo still owns its status, priority, timing, prompt, meetings, notes, and external references. Epics cannot contain other Epics, and their progress is calculated from completed child todos rather than an independent Epic status.

If you delete an Epic, Ghost removes only the grouping. Its child todos become standalone and their linked notes remain intact.

Outcome: The Epic title and description explain what the group is trying to achieve.
Work: Every child todo stays small enough to start, move, prioritize, and finish independently.
Progress: The board derives Epic progress from the statuses of its child todos.
Other: Unrelated tasks remain visible as standalone todos outside an Epic.

The next step, with the reason attached.

“Draft the rollout brief” is useful. The decision, source meeting, and working note behind it make the task easier to start. Ghost can attach those references when it creates a to-do, so you do not have to reconstruct the conversation later.

Keep the title action-sized and the detail in a linked note. Add an email, web page, file, or other source link when the next step comes from elsewhere.

A follow-up from AI meeting notes can retain its source meeting. The meeting records what was discussed; the to-do records what needs doing.

Make room for what matters.

An AI task manager should make the list clearer, not longer. Focus uses four importance levels, so a meaningful priority can stand apart from work that can wait. You can ask Ghost to change the priority or update the item as the situation changes.

Timing labels such as Today or This week give the task context. They are not alarms or calendar reservations. A task does not become urgent simply because it says Today.

Track the work through To Do, In Progress, and Done. Drag a card on the Kanban board or ask Ghost to update it. A move can change both status and Epic membership while preserving the task’s linked context.

Urgent: Work that genuinely needs immediate attention.
High: Consequential work that deserves focus.
Normal: The default for everyday actionable tasks.
Low: Useful work that can be deferred.

A Ghost to-do can carry a ready-to-send request. Open the item when you are ready to work, and continue with the task’s context instead of starting from a blank chat.

Ask Ghost to read the linked brief, draft the next step, compare evidence, or investigate the remaining question. When a step needs a website you are signed into, its AI browser agent can help. Actions still need clear user intent and the permissions relevant to that action.

Use the linked material to get to a first draft sooner. Review the result, make any changes, and mark the item done when the work is complete.

Those capabilities can support the same work without being the same thing. A saved task keeps the next step visible; a scheduled run controls when work executes; a check-in decides whether there is a useful update to bring back.

How do I add or update a task?

Tell Ghost what to add to Focus, what priority to use, or which item to update. You can ask it to list your current tasks or mark an item done. The list persists beyond the conversation.

Can Ghost create tasks from meeting notes?

Yes. Ghost can turn a clear follow-up into a Focus item and attach the source meeting or note. It looks for meaningful actionable priorities rather than adding every passing suggestion to the list.

Can I use this as a conversational AI to-do app?

Yes. You can manage the list through requests to Ghost and start or resume work from an item. Focus is part of the Ghost app, with a persistent list rather than a one-shot generated checklist.

Are Focus items reminders or recurring automations?

No. Today and This week are timing labels. They do not schedule execution or guarantee a notification. Future and recurring runs belong to Scheduled Tasks.

What happens to notes when I delete a linked task?

Notes attached through a task’s lifecycle link are archived when that task is deleted and leave normal active-note searches. If a note should remain independent, use an external context reference instead of that lifecycle link.
